Friends Of Parkside (FOP) is a resident-led nonprofit serving The Villages at Parkside in Detroit. This policy explains what information FOP collects, how FOP uses it, and the choices you have.
What FOP collects
FOP collects only what you give us. That is usually your name, email address, mobile number, and mailing address or unit. If you fill out a sign-up form, FOP also records the date and time you signed up and the exact wording you agreed to, so we have a record of your consent.
Some FOP forms ask optional questions, such as whether you live at The Villages at Parkside, your preferred language, and how you heard about FOP. You can skip any of them.
How FOP uses it
FOP uses your information to send you the newsletter, Action Alerts, and other news you asked for, to answer your questions, and to reach you about programs and services. FOP also uses totals and counts, with no names attached, to report on our work to funders and partners.
FOP does not sell or share your information
FOP does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. FOP does not share your mobile number, or your consent to receive text messages, with any third party for marketing purposes.
The only outside companies that see your information are the services FOP uses to deliver messages, such as our email and text message providers. They may only use it to deliver messages on FOP's behalf.
FOP will release information if the law requires it, such as a valid court order.
Your choices
You can stop hearing from FOP at any time. Use the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email, reply STOP to any text message, call 313-822-0311, or email info@friendsofparkside.org. FOP acts on every request within 10 business days, and usually right away.
You can also ask FOP what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Call or email and we will take care of it.
Keeping your information
FOP keeps your contact information for as long as you want to hear from us. If you unsubscribe, FOP keeps a minimal record of your request so we do not contact you again by mistake.
Children
FOP's sign-up forms are meant for adults. FOP does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has signed up, call 313-822-0311 and we will remove it.
Website
The FOP website is hosted by Squarespace, which collects standard visitor information such as pages viewed and general location. FOP uses this only to understand how the site is used.
Changes to this policy
FOP may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
