Action Alerts

Updated September 8, 2026.

HUD is reviewing a change to the Detroit Housing Commission’s 2026 Annual Plan. The change rewrites the rule for when DHC has to give public notice, hold a public hearing, and consult the Resident Advisory Board before it acts. Friends Of Parkside (FOP) filed written objections with the DHC Board of Commissioners on August 3, 2026, and with HUD on August 25 and September 5, 2026. FOP’s reading is that HUD’s 75-day review period closes in late October 2026, and that if HUD does not act by then the change is treated as approved. Printed copies of everything FOP filed are free on request — call 313-822-0311 or stop by 5000 Conner Street, Suite 103.

Dates ahead: 5th Precinct CompStat meeting, Tuesday, September 15, 2026 · FOP Community Meeting, Wednesday, September 23, 2026 · HUD RAD Resident Engagement Office Hours, Wednesday, October 7, 2026 · FOP Community Meeting, Wednesday, October 28, 2026. Call 313-822-0311 for times and locations.
